I'M UP TO 9K AND THEY'RE STILL PRETTY STRONG. I'VE HEARD PEOPLE'S BRAKES CRAPPING OUT IN AS LITTLE AS 5K AND AS HIGH AS 25K. I PERSONALLY AM GOING TO CHANGE MY PADS AND ROTORS OVER WINTER BREAK.

2Hottie, it helps if you say where you heard or read bad things about the OEM brakes. I'm not a big fan of hear-say. Please point to reviews on websites or specific examples. Thanks!

I have 31k miles on my car. My brakes started to squeak recently, I think I'm going to get new pads this week.

15000 miles and they were shot.... dealer said I needed new pads and resurfaced rotors for 290 at North Shore honda in long island, I thought it was a lie so I took the car home and paid 40 bucks for a brake cleaning and adjustment (rip off)... went home and proceeded to change the brakes myself... the pads were 50 percent.. but they were heat cracked.. more shoddy construction from honda motor company... well anyway I changed them it cost me 35 bucks... yipee... brakes are great.. next time i am getting slotted rotors and better brakes...

With my 6th gen back in the day, I had 40,000+ miles on it and never changed my pads.

16,700 miles and still going. My friends girl had over 18k and they finally went on her 2k1. It depends on how you drive....are you heavy on the brake? I think i am going to go with AEM bigger brakes next time....im not happy with the way the 7th gen stops.....I want 4 wheel disc....We got ripped

15,5 k miles and they seem pretty much the same. I do alot of highway driving though... Its crappy to hear that the stock pads can go so soon (15k miles). My previous experiences with brakes puts them at 40k miles at least (Ford Ranger, Ford Escort) My sister has a 6th gen and she hasn't had her's changed yet. I know she has over 36k miles, probably like 38 or 39 now. She drives pretty easy though

I'm at 15,800 right now, but the rotors started warping around 13,000. The right front is making a scraping sound now. I'm getting the rotors resurfaced and pads replaced today at Midas - $150.

I had a break cleaning because of a clicking noise at 7K, and they said I had like 72% left on the fronts, 79% on the rears..

that's a ton better than the 10K i got on my old (RIP) Corolla FX on my last 2 sets of breaks...
