Curious: How much were rims?
Just wondering...
I also want to see how nuts I really am. Somehow, I am drawn to the expensive ones, not by name, but just by look. The more expensive ones all look different from eachother and that's the story with the ones I found, unique, but expensive for 17s. So what did you pay (or approximate it) and give a little info about what they are (brand, style, w/ or w/o tires on them) just basics... I need a sanity check. Thanks.

Sometimes, I can see right through myself ...

For my rims and tires, mounted and balanced, and shipped to my door - $800. They are TenzoR Passion5s in white wrapped with Hankook Ventus 205/40/17 rubber. Cost me an extra $75 to find the optional blue center caps, but definately well worth it.
my rims were 2700CDN with 205/40/17 Parada's. umm US dollars are worth 60% more now i believe
17" Racing Hart CP10s in bronze. look sweet, and are very light (15.5lbs or something). Plus not many people have em.

I finally found a package worth the money...Enkei SR5's w/215/40/17 Hankook Ventus HRII for 864, including everything. There are good deals out there, but you just have to get out there and find them. I just bought my first set of wheels and ended up finding that deal on my own. But obviously you don't want to pay more than you have to, even though sometimes you do have to if you want pricier rims.
P.S. I had been looking for a grillcraft upper insert and Street-Beat Customs has them for 109.95 shipped, as well as the lower grill for the same price!!!! If anyone is looking for them, that is probably the best deal you will find. Happy hunting!

Well, I guess I am insane... I'm looking at about $1600 for 17" rims and tires alone
. Maybe I should re-consider a little. Or maybe someone can tell me what other cars have a 4x100 bolt pattern so I know what to buy when I trade in the Civic... May as well keep the rims going

I really don't want to say specifically because I want to do my own thing and I know no one else on here has these rims nor does anyone I know around where I live. I'm trying to keep it that way. All I'll say is it's a newer style BBS rim, and it seems I'm going to have to buy them from a BMW or German automotive specialty shop, because that's the only place I can find them. I finally found out that they fit my car, and I've decided to wait until next spring to get them (they need to be special ordered anyway), because otherwise I'll have to take them off in a few weeks (at $290 per rim, I'm not driving in the snow on them), so I'm just going to order them in late march, just in time for spring.
You have a civic....it is a rice burner....it is not an expensive car.....so put some rice wheels on it..
Oh yeah I paid around $1150 shipped for 17" Konig Verdicts w/ Toyo Proxes from Tires-n-Parts

I wanted to be different too, so I bought Niche Shocking Shocks for my car (2 years ago). They are 2-piece wheels with the center part being silver (to match my car) and a polished rim. The wheels are set up to accomodate big brakes and look as smooth as possible, so they have a flat cap instead of a valve stem. When it's time to check pressure, unscrew the flat cap and screw in the custom valve stem from your glovebox. That has freaked out quite a few tire shops The price for the set of 4 was $880 + shipping
On order: a set of Volk GT-N 17 X 7 2-piece wheels with forged center section in gunmetal. I refuse to say how much I paid because the flames would burn me to a charred crispy chunk of flesh

My rims were 17" rims w/ Ziex 512 205/40/17 were $700, but mounting, shipping, balancing, centering rings and everything came out to about $880.
Well not to say people should buy 25 pound rims, but buying brand name rims seems to be spending too much. My rims are like 18 pounds, light enough for me.

I bought myself a set of Enkei Bortex RPM-2 18" wheels at the end of the summer. Got a good deal for them ($1700 CAD). I think that's around 1100 US. Keep in mind that that's without rubber. I'm probably going to buy Yoko Parada spec-2 next summer in 215/35/18. Here's a pic of the mags, let me know what you think.

Oh and for those who say they're going to weight a ton, well guess what, they only weigh 17 pounds each!!!
