How much to fix a scratched lip on rim?

Yeah I was moving into my new apt last week and I was backing up by the curb so I could have closer access to the stairs, well I hear this big scrape... I normally am a paranoid driver, but accidents happen, even if you're the most careful driver... Anyway, I have Tenzo Passion-5 17" and the scratches on the lip are not deep, and maybe like 10 inches around... I was wondering how much I should be looking at to get this fixed, or rather just buy a new rim for $160 or less... Its not noticable, but I know its there and the guilt is killing me...

nice wheels... but i would just live with it.. i just think its normal wear on your car such as having dings n such... but if you want to get it repaired i think its like $25-50 for the repair... not sure if that include paint/polish tho.

Did the same thing to my one of my wheels a couple of months ago. Not that noticeable, but I knew it was there. I got estimates from three different places to get it repaired, and the prices ranged from $130 - $160. A fourth place told me to not even bother with getting it fixed because it wasn't worth it. They said get another wheel and make the scratched one a spare. Probably not what you wanted to here.

Oh, and BTW, nobody had my wheel in stock, so it was going to take at least 6 weeks before they could get it. Needless to say, I still have the scratched wheel and don't worry about it as much as I did when it first happened.

MAN U GUYS ARE NUTS ... YOU JUST GONNA GIVE UP ON UR RIMS? .... WELL i wont.. i have 3 piece niche pultec's... THEY DONT MAKE THE RIM ANYMORE SO REPLACEMENT RIM IS NOT AN OPTION..... Last spring break i flattend A LIP .. its wasnt pretty.... Fortunately i found a dude that sends rims off to some company... i took 3 days.. AIR shipped.. they FIX'd the lip... Redipped the rim in paint, polished and clearcoated for 125 $ .. TO me thats a deal considering my wheels are 495 a piece with out tire. so ur best bet if you have CHEAP rims is to chuck it .. but if you went out and bought some quality shi% then u need to look online for WHEEL REPAIR. AND mail that bit%$ out.

yeah, Tenzo R are only liek $200 or so including tires... I guess over time it'll stop haunting me.... Hey Zeta, I was thinking about that also..getting another rim and using the scratched one as a spare... Like you said, its not noticable, but I know its there , Oh well, I think I needa get a life and realize that shlt happens. I say to myself its not that bad, b/c I hear about guys that total their Civics, and mines is just a little scratch. I did it again yesterday as I was backing up AGAIN and I cant see my left rear rim, luckily it was in the same place that the 1st one happened, therefore I've come up with a solution, never park anywhere with curbs... or at least dont back up... Also, right about the rim, a piece from the sidewall of the tire came out, like 1 inch... So I just ripped it off. Oh well, I agree with what Vnil said, shlt happens... damn man you gotta drive more carefully.. before when i didn't have my rims, my tires would touch the curb all the time cause i didn't care... not that i have my rims, i make sure my rims dont touch... just remember, as long as your in the white area and not the black part of the street your fine, you dont have to park any closer.. i usually open my passenger door to make sure my parkings fine. unlike some other rims, my rims stick out much further then the tire so if i hit the curb, there goes my rim and its not even the lip, its almost the center of it. but ya just park more carefully, take 10 mins if you have to.
