Big Brake Kit question

Why is AEM changing their rotors to black? You can't notice them as much, and wouldn't look good. Does anyone know a brake kit with oversize rotors that doesn't cost alot?

Allegedly (SP) AEM says that the changes care made for the better...1-piece design for better construction than a 2-piece rotor..black because its a new anti-rust process that is a lot better than what they had before (copied from Rotora rotors I believe) and went to slotted only becuase they belive slotted and drilled weakens the construction of the rotors. Wilwood has a brake system too for our rides but dont know how much. Hope that helps

I think the Willwood kit is the best one out there now. Well, best cost/performance ratio. I will be getting that kit in the future...

personally, i think the new black AEM big-brake kit looks cool. the Wilwood Big Brake kit w/ 4piston caliper was detailed in the latest SCC where it is installed on a 7thgen civic, they also installed stainless steel braided brake line. very nice, but the Wilwood kit would probly cost like $1000-1200 or more (thats what AEM's big brake w/ 4piston caliper kit costs).

i think the Wilwood big brake kit does come with 4-piston calipers by default, but the AEM "Big Brake Kit" doesnt, for that you need the "Big Brake Kit w/ 4-piston Caliper" which is sold as something else.

The cheapest Wilwood big brake kit i found was at summit racing and they sell it for a little over 600. The rotor size is 10.25. Not as big as the AEM rotors are. But thats a good price for have a 4-piston caliper. Usually they are over 1000 dollars.

555, are you sure that was the one with the 4-piston calipers...i thought the Wilwood big-brake kits only come with the nicer calipers, but thats hella cheap if it is!

EDIT: i just found the product you were talking about, and it looks like its the real big-brake kit with the 4-piston calipers...wow, thats a kickass price only $150 or so more than the AEM big brake kit that uses the stock calipers
