40 offset + 17" rims = rubbing?
I was planning to get some 17" rims w/ 205/40/17 tires, but the offset of the rims are 40. I also have eibach sportlines installed. So I was wondering if this combo with equal to rubbing?
I have Yokohama Parada Spec 2's on my wheels. 215/40/18. They rub with Neuspeed Sport Springs. Well, I haven't gotten an alignment. Either that will fix the rub or make it worse. It only rubs on one side now. You can bend the inside of the fender though to escape that. That's what I"m going to have to do.
Of course not. I barely rub and I'm on 18's (215/40/18). His wheels are an inch smaller. A lot of people don't notice rubbing on their 18's because A) They never listen for it, B) They lower their car and never get an alignment. So they end up with a lot of negative camber, making the fender lip miss the wheel. I bought a rubber mallet today. I'm just going to take the blow gun and the mallet to it tomorrow. If you put race springs in the rear and didn't get an alignment I can almost assure you that you're getting negative camber back there. That, and the 35 side wall is why you're not getting rub. I have 40.
