Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's...best tire for the money ($90-100/ea), hands down.

I second that. I've also heard good things about the Yokohama Parada. Good dry grip...excellent wet grip, and they aren't that much more expensive. And of course, if you have the money, Toyos are pretty damn good.

Silica based tires:
Falken Ziex 512
Bridgestone Pole SO-3
Yokohama Parade Spec-2
Toyo FZ4
Toyo T1-S
Normal tires(pre-silica based)
Kuhmo 712
Ziex 502
Pole S0-2
Parada

Take your pic, unless you street race/race, you will not need the Silica based ones, but the compound helps with traction on dry/wet surfaces. I would go with the 512s, Paradas, T1-S, or Paradas. The tires are not square and have more cornering traction(rounded edges).

I had the Dunlop SP9000 in the size you're looking to get, and I loved them. Probably one of the best tires I've ever had. The wet traction was incredible and wonderful dry traction. I don't think they're all that expensive either, maybe $140 a tire.

I have the Toyo Proxes T1-S right now, but I haven't gotten them mounted yet, but I hear good things about them also.

Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's all the way. I just got my new rims w/ these tires on Friday and man I didn't know how tires could dramatically boost ur performance. I punch it hard in 1st and shift to 2nd expecting to scratch like I would on my stock tires, geez these babies gripped hard and threw me backwards!!! Iono, I'm a little too over excited about them but they're nice. I saw the same tread pattern on some Michelin tires, so yeah....

I am running the Kumho 711's and I have yet to find a fault with them. And they were awesome for the price.

Try Whalen Tire, I got mine there and shipping was more than offset by the taxes.

Don't get those newly advertised Ventus tires. I bought my rims with those tires on, and they make so much damn noise. My car sounds like a tank. On the freeway, my tires are louder than my exhaust.

My experience with the Falken Ziex are good. ARen't Toyo T1-S very expensive compared to the rest of the tires? Same thing with the BFGoodrich G KDW or KD tires?

Not too many companies make 205/45/17 though huh? The only tires i've seen in that size are the Kumho 712, Falken 502, and Yokohama Parada. I found out that teh tire fubs with 215/45/17 if I set the camber almost zero. I know I can roll my fender, but hoping the 205 will prevent that.

Personally the next tyres I get will be the Yokohama Parada Spec-2, I currently ride on Kumho 712s and theres more road noise than I would like, that is the only fault with these tyres, they have excellent wet road capabilities and good grip on dry tarmac as well. At 80 dollars a piece theres not a better deal (For 205/40-17ZR).

like whats exactly wrong with your tire man? you might be able to take it to your local discount tire store and have them patch it up for free. it just cant be a huge gash or be on the sidewall

the tire was flat yesterday when i walk out to the car. i didn't realize it and drove the car around, now the sidewall is wore down. i filled the air back up yesterday, and it's now flat again. with the sidewall dammage, i rather not take a chance, new tire it is, with the way i drive too -_-

hows the 45 profile treating you over bumps and pot holes, Ive ran some crazy *** potholes in my 40 pro 712s and no problem, no bent rim, no flat, no sidewall damage.
