16 inches wheels

what is the best tires size i should use to avoid my speedometer to read inaccurately?
i have 205/45R16 now but they are getting bald and i am not sure if the size i am using now is correct cuz it seems very slow when i look at the speedo and look outside the window.

also which one is better? Kumho Supra 712 or Dunlop SP Sport FM901??? they are about the same price and want to see who have these and then see which one is better. i can't afford anything other than the above 2 tires cuz yoko and toyo are out of my budget..

I think that a 215/50/16 would be the closest to stock. Not sure which of the tires is best.

Mbow is right...the tire calculator shows that as the perfect size, but it is not very common. I don't think either manufacturer makes the tire you want in that size.

That calculator also confirms that you are right about your current tires. Your speedometer is reading almost 5% too fast!

1.11% too slow for 215/50R16
0.52% too fast for 205/50R16
which one is better? too slow or too fast?

I don't think it matters whether it is off by a positive or negative amount. I would just get the size that is closest to stock. The 215 size is twice as far off as the 205. I'd go with the 205 if it were me.

The 205 is really close (.52% is so close you shouldn't see much difference on your speedometer).

Your Dunlop & Kumho both come in that size too! Now you're back to your other question--which is better? My son has the Kumhos on his Civic and they have been very impressive. I currently have the older style Dunlop SP Sport W-10's on my Civic. The FM901's are improvements over those tires (nice tread pattern!), but they would need to be. Mine are average in treadwear & wet traction, and now that they have about 20,000 miles on them they are loud as he//.

Come back on here and let us know which way you go.

right now i am running Bridgestone Potenza RE910 and they are expensive to replace and i need 4 new tires soon
i heard good things and bad thigns about Kumho but i havent heard anything at all from Dunlop..i guess ppl dont really buy them
i live in toronto, canada and the price for Dunlop and Kumho is almost the same....around 140-150 a piece (CDN dollar)
so i just wnat to hear more feedback b4 i go out and buy 4 tires

i think i will stick with 205 cuz i am afraid 215 might be too wide and might rub when i turned my wheels

let me know what u guys think ok?

thanx
