Tire Size for 17" Wheels

well i searched and the only thing that came up was tire sizes for 18's, so i decided a new post was necessary.. i am in the checkout stage on my wheels (108 bucks for shipping ) and decided to go with 215/40/R17 Yokohama Parada Spec II's for my 17 in Konig SubZeros.. do you think this is a good move going with this size? please give me your feedback on what you think is the proper tire size for 17's..

on a side note- differences between Parada and Parada Spec II's aside from 8 bucks a tire? should i drop the 32 bucks and get the paradas or just stick with the spec II's?

don't flame- flaming is for cranky old men.

thanx

I would say Paradas, I am going to buy 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 depends on looking to where I am moving back too.

The Spec II has a stickier compound and will not last as long (barely). It has better dry and wet traction. It is the newer of the two. I have 205/45 17s on mine. I had rubbage probs on the back with 215/45 17s. Since you are going to go with 40s you will probably be fine, but you will notice that 40s don't fill up the wheel well quite as nicely. JMO.

I've got 215/45/17 on stock suspension and I don't rub at all. It also fills the fender gap a little because it's slightly larger in diameter than the stock tire.

Depends, if you're going to lower your car get 215/40 or 205/40, and if your not going to lower your car get 215/45 or 205/45 and how wide a tire u want the 215 are going to be a bit wider
