rust on rotors ?.

rust on rotors ?.
i just checked my front rotors today and found that there was rust on them .
do any of you also have this problem ?. is there any way to remove the rust ?... can i sand it off ?

Rep Power: 0 Yeah, when I painted my rotors/calipers I saw a thin layer of rust...this is normal...I just basically took some steel wool, and a special fluid that I got @ Pep Boys called "Rust Gone" which basically removes the rust component...then I slapped on some quality high temp paint; no more rust!

Rep Power: 318 How often do you drive your car? Rust from just sitting overnight should be nothing to worry about. The next time you brake should take this oxidation off in an instant. Totally normal.
Now if your talking big ugly crusty barnacle-like rust, I'd be worried.

Rep Power: 419 I upgraded my front brakes with zinc coated rotors. No more rust. Well, at least on everything but the part of the rotor in contact with the brake pads. If that sits without use for too long it gets a thin layer of rust on it too.

Rep Power: 0 its kinda easy to replace rotors except the main bolts holding the caliper are kinda tight..need impact gun it out.. and also a torque screwdriver to take out those two lil screws holding the actual rotor up..besides that, easy install. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/IMG]
