Anyone attempt the Type R 20" factory wheels on theirs?
Anyone attempt the Type R 20" factory wheels on theirs?
well i am going thru some of my crazy ideas as i am finally putting my 05 i bought new back on the road after many years off the road due to my health
and always like the TSX type s wheels and just seen the type r wheels on the newer civics and thought why now
i know the bolt pattern is different but that is not my main concern
it is the size overall and width
any feedback would much appreciated
stay safe out there
God Bless,John

That would look good awful to me, and you would have rubber band tires.

Based soley on size you should be able to fit a 215/30R20 as long as the rim has the correct width and offset.
The Type R uses 245/30R20 which has a diameter over an inch larger. Basically, compared to the stock wheel you would have an extra 1/2" to an 3/4" of tire all the way around. This would through off your speedometer/odometer by 5%. A width of 245 is also quite wide, from what I can find the wheels are 8.5" wide too. If my calculations are correct there would be an extra ~40mm of wheel/tire on the inside and ~15 mm on the outside (compared to the stock tire size). With that info you should be able to estimate if they will fit.

from other members' experience, in a 7th generation car, 225 is the maximum for the rear. so recommended would be 215. 245 and 8.5 wheel width is way past that, it would star shredding tire, rear quarter and who knows, maybe some suspension parts.
