Winter tire wobbling noise

I have a set of winter tires that I used previously in a Corolla. I would like to use those tires on my 2005 honda civic. I checked online and the tire should seem to fit civic as well. So, I swapped the winter (as below) and went for a test drive. The tire made very loud wobbling nose as if the tire went flat. The car was not wobbling or shaking. I quickly parked back on my drive way and I didn't see any see issue(proper PSI, nuts tighten properly). I ended up swapping back to my all season tires.

I had used these winter tires on my corolla before and I didn't have these issues. Could be the lug-nut used on Aluminum rim is not compatible?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated?

Winter Tire specification:
Steel Rim: 4 x 100 bolt pattern
Tire Size: 175 / 65 / 14

Current Tire:
Aluminum Rim
Tire Size: 195/60/15

Re: Winter tire wobbling noise

Are they directional tires? Did you rotate them? Did you try rotating them after they were making noise on your Civic? Balance the wheels? Alignment?

I just changed to winters on both my truck and my Civic this last week.

I have 2 sets of winters on steel rims for the Civic. The one set I run in the summer and they are on their last legs right now. They make a hell of a racket (road noise) to the point that you would think that something is wrong with the car but same thing no uneven wear or vibration and even regular rotation doesn't make any difference. When I put my winters on today everything was dead silent again. Could just be your tires and how they work on your Civic.

I also switch between steel and aluminum rims on my truck and don't do anything special (lugs) when I change them. There's no noticable difference between the steelies and the aluminum rims though.

Re: Winter tire wobbling noise

Thanks for reminding me about direction as I totally forgot about it - I will need to check it. Are 99 corolla 99 rims are totally interchangeable with civic even though both are 4x100 bolt pattern ?
