changing my tires
changing my tires
this has more then likely been asked before but, i have an 2002 civic lx coupe 2 door with stock tires on it, so whatever the placard says. this summer im shooting to get some new tires and rims hopefully summer street ones. now i want to upgrade the size of the tires ideally both to a wider tire and maybe a 16 inch. id like to know is this possible without problems. the tire cost isn't a concern so shoot you ideas and maybe some tires and rims that would suit this application.
thanks
thanks

Re: changing my tires
most 16" rims you will buy will be 16x7. the optimal tire size for that rim and your car is 205/50/16. its much wider than the stock 185 and provides enough sidewall for good dailydrive.
if cost is not an issue for you, then i would recogmend any race-type tire like the falken azenis rt615k.
they are ultra sticky but will barly last you 15k miles (if you drive not too agressive).
look at the tire wear rating. generally, the lower the number, the sticker they are (and the shorter the lifespan)
search the forum. there are many great options and reviews
