Tires are Shot!

Well my tires are shot so let's hear it from you guys. I'm going to keep my OEM rims so don't even go there The ones I'm replacing are Goodyear Triple Treads that have about 40k miles on then and I don't feel I got the life I should have out of them. Let's hear some suggestions!

Re: Tires are Shot!

I got 10k out of Canadian Tire junk tires, I was choked and had a less than pleasant discussion with their mechanics, but I digress.

I like Nexen tires, they may be on the low end price wise but I actually find they perform very well, my only complaint would be road noise during the summer.

Azenia RT-615k's and Nitto's are both excellent choices. I recommend the Potenza RE760 Sports.

Yeah, i have them on the 16's back home. They have the nylon reinforce in the sidewalls, but can't remember for the life of me if they are available for stockie wheels...
I believe they will not last long, though, mine are close after 20k miles...
much better than the RE01's though - they lasted 12k... usual case they would last 8k...

so these choices would be out of tom's target...

Bwaaahahaha! just noticed your sig!

It was too good to pass up, I'm amazed no one picked up on it, it was totally sig worthy.

I know when I bought the car the previous owner just put some "navigators" on them. I've driven 30k miles and they've held up pretty well, though they won't make it past this summer. Thankfully I got a set of Azienas to autocross with.

It's surprising how good they are for cheap *** tires, I was expecting them to be total garbage but they actually grip really well even in the rain and at high speed, I'm running the n3000.

Re: Tires are Shot!

I think life is the most important thing to me because I put a lot of miles on this car. I think I average around 20k miles a year. I don't want to be buying tires every year, it would be nice to go at least 2. Lots of good options here though Thanks everyone.

Re: Tires are Shot!

Well, I opted to go for the tires that everyone around here has. The Michelin Hydroedges... Simply because I got a great deal on them (550 installed) which is great... Here in Canada anyway! Oh yea and they are the only tires rated for 140k kms. I'll be doing the alignment and tire install this Wed!! Can't wait for my car to be quiet again.. the tires I have now are loud as hell and shake like crazy!
