hard pull to left when driving.
i recently got 17 inch rims on my 7th gen Si-G (ex), replacing the stock 15's. since my tires for the 15's were thinner then most stock tires my tire gap and over all diameter has increased by about 2 inchs. before i got them i noticed the steering wheel was always a bit pulled down to the left to drive straight. i thought this was just air issues in my tires, the car used to have the wheel straight to go straight. now i find that when i brake it pulls to one side and when i accelerate it goes back to normal, but normal being pulled a bit down to the left again rather then dead center. is this normal? is it my differential working with the newer size and weight? or are my strutes going or something in the suspention/steering?
Re: hard pull to left when driving.
First thing I would wanna know is if you've had an alignment at all. If it was pulling to one side before you got new tires, that could be why. If it's pulling to one side when you brake, tire pressure could be off now, or a combination of both. I'm guessing you got a brand new set of 4? Have you checked your brake pads/shoes?

Re: hard pull to left when driving.
interesting you braught up the brakes because before i got the new rims (and yes 4, 17's) i had my brake pads and rotors replaced. maybe one is gripping harder then the other.
Re: hard pull to left when driving.
Mine did(still does) the samething after I got 17's. I eventually got used to it and yeah I drive more straight than the first time I drove off with the 17's. BTW, Is that a BC license plate i see?

hell yu it is1 you know there is a huge honda meet tomorrow the 19th at abbotsford automall at 12. mostly s2000's but i hear an nsx night enter the show car section. i'll be there you should come!
Re: hard pull to left when driving.
You could have a sticky piston in one of your calipers. Or the e-brake could be sticking on one side also. Does it vibrate when you apply the brakes at all?
You might want to try bleeding your brakes also.

Re: hard pull to left when driving.
no vibration but pulls on way for braking and the other when i accelerate. the pull is the worst at 80km/h lower is better and higher is ok but accelerating and braking around 80, you can feel the pull.
Re: hard pull to left when driving.
Sounds like alignment issues. But I would take off the brakes and inspect them and all of the steering/suspension while there is good access. Check for play at all of the joints/moving parts.
Re: hard pull to left when driving.
Mine did the same thing when the tierods went bad. Easy way to check: with both wheels off the ground, back-to-front play is a bad tierod, up-and-down play is a bad ball joint.
Re: hard pull to left when driving.
Dude, I remember when my TREs went as well. Scary stuff. I was on the highway and the wheel just started moving to the right on its own. They weren't done done, but it was a damn good sign that it was about time to change 'em. Any updates OP?
Re: hard pull to left when driving.
Re-alignment is good, but a waste of money if that's not the problem. Better to inspect first and find out what's wrong before throwing money at it.
Wheel balancing would not make it pull, and would make it vibrate.
Sorry man I don't mean to shoot you down.

Camber would not make it pull to one side.

Camber kit would help, if the problem is the treadwear on tires are worn on inside/outside
Alignment check shouldnt cost anything
And i just threw in balancing cos you might want to check it while you're at it
Just throwing ideas off the top of my head, u never know :P

Re: hard pull to left when driving.
tires are like 90%. yesterday after the car meet driving home i took her to 160kmh (100mph) stupid idea thinking of it now but i forget that there is an issue because if i'm constant on the throttle there is no pulling to one side or the other. anyway car was smooth all the way up. and damb does the car pull better now that all my exhaust stuff is in. used to struggle very hard to get past 140khm. but now after the vtec kicks in 70-160 (40-100 mph) is a snap. the non vtec from 0 to 70kmh is still quite slow. noticed slight acceleration increase but mostly torque, hills i used to struggle on get destroyed and if i have passangers you can tell the car is performing better then stock.

Re: hard pull to left when driving.
short ram intake (would have gone cold but it's too wet here. stock header for now cause it matchs the diameter of the exhasts ports on the block so going bigger wouldn't really help. 2.25 downpipe, 2.25high flow cat., 2.25 megnaflow cat. back. i think 2.25 is perffect for stock internals. some people run 2.5 but i think the backpressure is too low. anyway i have an auto, but i took a video of a 0-60 pull. my time was 8.2-8.5 seconds. which isn't fast but it's fast for the seventh gen auto. for the stock manual tran. i've seen 0-60 times of 8-9 seconds. so for my auto to be sitting in the low 8's there must have been an improvment. some people say it's just psychological but i've been running 0-60 pulls since it was compleatly stock ang timing it and i feel that the car performs better.
Re: hard pull to left when driving.
What kind of short ram do you have and where did you get it? Ive been trying to look for one but theyre too expensive. I want to get the ebay pipe but high quality filter such as AEM Dryflow costs too much
Thanks(mine's an auto too)

What's your budget? AEM intakes aren't that much IMO. I love mine.

Re: hard pull to left when driving.
well i should have grabbed an ebay one like you're planning but i got a k&n. on the good side it has instalation instructions specific to the 01-05 civic and fits perfectly, g=but costt $320. bad side to ebay intakes is lack of fit, a lot are generic. then i bought a megnaflow 2.25 cat. back used off craig's list for $150 (like $500 new). then i bought a high flow cat. 2.25inch for just under $100 from a performance shop. then got it all welded in for $170. i'd do it for the sound alone =D. megnaflow designed it to always sound deep at low rpm so you don't get that putting, farting sound. and when vtec kicks in the car screems (but nice sounding) kinda like the higher pitch sounds of f1 cars or the clips of the new honda hsv. anyway i,m more then happy with the system. and no CEL because i have a cat. and not test pipes.

Re: hard pull to left when driving.
ok so recentally i've noteced when i go over speed bumps, if my window's open, i can hear my fron driver's side wheelwell squeeking. it sounds like when my bro had to replace his stuts and stuff. i looked at my wheel spacing and on the other three wheel wells there is like 3 inchs of space before the tire (stock springs with 17's) but on the front driver's side the space looks like i have it lowered and is only about 2 inchs.
what's the best bet as to what the problem is? spring shot?

Re: hard pull to left when driving.
My car would squeak when going over bumps. My issue turned out to be that my tie rod ends, sway bar bushings and a few other things needed to be regreased. Id start with the small stuff and go from there just to be safe.

Re: hard pull to left when driving.
How many kilometers does you car have on the suspension components?
After my front strut blew it would pull to the left a bit, but nothing crazy.. If its speaking when your go over speed bumps that sounds like a strut.
