16"s or 17"s ??!?

Hey guys, having a problem deciding between:

16" 5zigen Fn01r-c (hyper black)...14.5 lbs each

17" 5zigen Fn01r-c (hyper black)...16.5 lbs each

I like how 17"s look on our cars, but the 16"s will be 8 lbs total lighter than the 17"s the 17"s are still light though. What do you guys think?>

depends on the road conditions. Where i live i cant run 17's because of all the pot holes they would get really beat up. but 8lbs isnt much more and the 17s do look better.

go with the 17's. its a civic, your not going to go fast, so weight shouldnt be your deciding factor. not to mention 17's look a ton better.

I think a lot of ppl overlook the fact wider wheels make for better handling (17's) which is an added benefit.

16 x 7.5 and 17 x 7.5 are both the same width. how do you figure that the wheel will get wider by increasing diameter?

With larger wheels you get more rotational mass, makes the car slightly slower but you wont spin them nearly as much. I went from 18s to 16s back to 18s. I like the look of a bigger rim and with boost, it doesnt matter if your are rolling 22" spinners, you will spin anyway.

Wheel weight really wont make a difference unless the wheel weighs 50 lbs a piece. and 8 lb difference and 1" more diameter is hardly noticable in a DD.

I say 17" I love mine and I don't care if they're a lil heavier...its a civic, it still handles awesome and won't go fast.

17's are fine. Like everyone else said, less weight ain't going to do much. We drive economy cars. Go for the 17's, because if your really concerned about weight, go for 15's.

well i already have konig troubes that are 17"s on my grey metallic 4dr. They look bad ***, but i honestly want something lighter...the 17 5zigens are 10 lbs lighter and will pretty much be the same color as my car so thats good.

The 16"s on the other hand will be a total of 18 lbs lighter than the konigs i am riding right now! lol (when i say total, im adding the weight of all 4 rims...not the tires though).

Thats y im having trouble deciding...ive seen 15" and 17" of the same wheel i want on 2 4dr civics on the forum and the 15"s are difinately too small. I like how 17"s look though lol

either way I go, im going to get bigger tires..not low profile, so it will fill the wheel gap more...i have a 1.5" drop from tein already w/koni shocks too.

--i dont know what tire size it is for 16" wheels but the tires i would get IF i got the 17"s are - /215/

also another factor in my decision is that im going to get a front lip and side skirts in the future, so um not sure if that will look as good with the 16"s? or maybe it wont really be that much of a difference

Why don't you just slam some 19" chrome NINJA-FIRE-STAR-WING-FIGHTER rims on her and drop it on bags...you'll be all set...HAHAHAHA

Nah...go with 17's...they'll be fine...not any less comfort than 16's and look a whole lot better...17's FTW
