Rim width, tire width question...
Rim width, tire width question...
The rims I have are 17x7.5" but they have 205/40's on them. The tires are not near the width they need to be to fill the rim so i was wondering what size tire I should be looking at. I will for sure be going to 45 series but my question is, will 225's fit or will they be too wide or just right or what? Any input will be appreciated!
The rims are borderline stiking out of the fender so I'm not sure if there will be rubbing issues, I'm gonna go test my springs here in a bit, and see how close it will be...
BTW, I'm not really going for handling, just want the wheels to fill out the fenderwell, and well, the 40's are too low pro for my liking. Anybody have 50 series on 17's or is that even possible?

Id go with 215s. I know its not the same but I have 225 Drag radials on 15s and they are wide as hell. they stick out way more than the stock back tires. On a 7.5 inch rim it doesnt rubas far as I can tell but its a pretty big difference than 205s.
i got 215/45/17s and they fill the wheel well nicely, plus give a comfy ride, versus puttin rubber bands on ur rims, good performance and ride, and you can fit 225s its just a tight fit, specially if its lowered
