just wondering if these tires would be too big for out car. i looked on the tire calc and 3.2 % slow so i would be going 61.9 will the speedometer said 60. i would save on milage since my insurance is based on milage. would it be ok any ideas. i yea i i would be putting them on some 17 konigs bronze with polished lip (hopefully).
dude, the 15 at the end of the numbers 225/45/15 is the size of the rim, like 15 inches, so you wont be putting them on 17 inch konigs... so you might need to rework some things

i have heard that 225 rubs on our cars and you might have to roll the fenders (at least thats what boiler told me) so i dont know, i think it depends on the offset of the rim also... i was looking at the same size except on 16s (225/50/16) but i will probably just end up getting 205/55/16 to be safe. its like a half inch difference on each tire so...i dunno if its worth it

Going with a larger tire/bigger rolling radius also changes your gear ratios, ie slightly less torque. I've read that going more than 2% larger isn't a good idea. I have 215/45/17s, and according to my gps, which obviously isn't perfect either, my speedo reads 2-3 mph slow. I'm inclined to believe a -2mph error. I don't think you should go bigger than a 215/45, but that's just me. I also think having your odometer read less than the actual miles is bs, if you drive 15000 miles in a year, it'll actually show 14700. I don't see that making much of a difference on insurance.
