good basic stock replacement tire
Hi, i just got a new (to me) civic, but it needs tires pretty bad. What kind of tire would you reccomend? Im just looking for a decent every-day tire with good tread ware, traction, and price. Anyone out there have any reccomendations?
I'm going have to represent my tires (FuzionHRi). FuzionHRi tires are great for everyday driving. Rain or shinethe tires perform excellent. Brand new they might smell for a week after a drive on a hot day. Sweet smell of new tires. Since i got a hook on these tires i chose'em.

yup i agree with falken ziex 512s...if u have 15inch wheels than go for 205/50/15 or if u have 14 inch than go for 195/60/14...
i have falken azenis RT-615 in 205/50/15 and damn those are some of the best tires i've ever used

I'm gonna hafta represent my tire now!
BFGoodrich Traction T/A. I have never had such a good tire on any vehicle I've ever driven. Snow traction was much better than the stock tires, and I haven't ever had any problems in the rain or on dry pavement. The ride is much smoother with these as well!

I absolutely love my Yokohama Avid H4S tires. Had them about a year and have extremely low tread wear. They might not handle the best, but the ride is excellent (wet or dry) and the treadlife is very long.

best tire for stock replacement is a Michelin MXV4 plus. it might be like $100 bucks or so a tire. but you are alsmot certain to get 50K miles or more. and the smoothest ride out there!

Thanks everyone who replied. I looked at all those tires and they all seem really nice, but way out of my price range right now. I think I should get some all seasons that would cost somewhere in the $50-60 range plus mounting and balancing and all that. My plan is to use these until I save up enough money for 17s or 18s and then use them as winter tires only.

well what area do you live in?
I just purchased Pirelli P3000's in orlando, florida for $63 a tire, and the total came to $367 and that included the road hazard plan. this was from discount tire.
I would go to discount tires website and check there.

I was actually getting ready to post the same question. Anyway, how wide of a tire can we put on the steelies? I apologize for the noobish question. I've never done too much research into tires...
I agree, Falken ZIEX 512. Though from www.discounttiredirect.com, 46 bucks and free shipping. Total is 196.00 for 195/60/15. These tires were rated number 1 by a consumer car magazine (sport compact car) and i have been using Falken 502/512 since 2001
thanks for all your input guys. I was talking about this with some of my friends and it turns out one of their parents is a manager at a good year store near my house. He gave me a set of eagle GT-HRs for $55 a piece. I had to go with the good deal.
try sears 400with balance/mount using falken zeix 512
i wouldnt go over 205

i'm going with a stock size tire replacement the middle of this month. the only beef i've had with my 04 ex coupe has been road noise. i'm shooting for some kevlar/carbon fiber composite tires from discount tire company.
i'll write a follow up once i have them on my factory alloys.
Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge
195/60R-15 88H VSB
The Goodyear Eagle featuring ResponsEdge Technology is a tire for Performance Touring drivers who desire crisp maneuverability and handling without sacrificing a smooth, quiet ride. The outer sidewall is reinforced with Carbon Fiber cords that stiffen the sidewall and help deliver a better feel for the road, while an InsuLayer™ made with DuPont™ KEVLARŽ helps absorb road noise and vibration.
•Carbon Fiber reinforced sidewall stiffens the outer sidewall to help keep more rubber on the road for enhanced cornering and maneuverability.
•InsuLayer™ made with DuPont™ KEVLARŽ helps absorb road noise and lessens vibration from road imperfections for a smooth, quiet ride.
•Aggressive, Asymmetric Tread Design delivers all-season capabilities for enhanced traction and cornering.
•Rim Flange Protector helps protect against wheel damage from accidental contact with curb.
UPDATE from Goodyear site - http://www.goodyeartires.com/eagle/eagleRE_innov.html lot of goodies there. can't wait till i get them on next week
*drool*
my bridgestones are hella loud and i've been driving on em for the past 2 years, bleh.
