Help on wheel sizes!!!
Help on wheel sizes!!!
Alright, here is my question: Is it possible to fit 20" rims on a Civic(01,LX SE) WITHOUT any fender cutting? Are there ANY other adjustments I will NEED to make in order to make 20" rims fit? I currently have 18"s on my Civic, and they do rub when I turn the wheel about 3/5ths. My cars suspension is currently stock, no lift or low! And I read mixed threads on the internet; some say no cutting is needed, while others say the opposite. Anyone have 20"s on a Civic, PLEASE let me know if any mods are a must. I just wanna ride as big as the Chevy's do! Thanks to all.
Well, they do look pretty nice already. And like I said, they DO rub. But they're on mid-profile tires right now. And I was wonderin' if 20"s on low-pros would fit. Money isn't a factor; What do I need to make 20"s fit?

Best thing is to pick the wheels and make them fit.
Every wheel fits different, its much easier to pick up a wheel that theoretically fits and make it fit than just to speculate.
If money is no object, buy the wheels, drop it off at the shop with a blank check and have them make it fit.
Its impossible to guess what will and won't fit just by the numbers.
A lot of times alignment can make it fit and thats it, when they start getting wide, things start getting interesting.
If 18s rub, they're not sized right, cuz they shouldn't be rubbing.

Yep, you make alot of sense. But I just don't want to cut the fenders. I'm up for anything else, but I'm not getting my fenders cut. And I just dont want to spend an almost equivelant price of the rims on suspension mods. And I'll act a fool if I make all of these adjustments and they still dont fit.
And I think the 18"s do look good in size, theres not much space left right now. But I wantto go low-pros, and try to make 20"s fit. Hell, I'll even settle for 19"s if I have to. But if all the fender cutting is required, and I have to spend another $1000+ just to make rims fit, I'll just stick with 18"s.
Man, I'm just gonna stick with my 18"s I think, cuz if I let a shop do what they have to do, then they have me in the position where they can charge me whatever the **** they want. And I don't care about spending $4000 on rims, but another 1 or 2k to make them fit, **** that! But if any1 else has 20"s or 19"s, let me know what mods were needed.
Listen to boilermaker1's advice.
If you can find a 20 x 7.5 wheel with the proper offset along with adding some negative camber (if it's needed) during alignment, then you can probably make it fit.
