Toyo Proxes 4 Vs. Falken Ziex ZE 512 Vs. Bridgestone Potenza G3 (Updated!)

Which of the two is worth buying? I'd like to hear from all 7thgen owners who have tried these tires their experience based on overall performance. I've researched from 1010tires and based on reviews Proxes 4 got (4.5) and Falken 512 got a (4.0). Now I'd like to hear your opinions. (( I've included the 3rd option Bridgestone Potenza G3 ))

Right now I'm kinda leaning on the Toyo Proxes 4.

Toyo Proxes 4

Falken Ziex ZE 512

Bridgeston Potenza G3

Suggestions and comments are welcome Thanks in advance guys!

I only have experience with the stock Dunlops and the Falkens, and the Falkens are lightyears better. I used to have major traction problems (in a stock DX) when turning or taking an offramp, but the Falkens stick like glue.

Toyo

I have the Toyo Proxes and they are good tire all around. They are great in the rain and in dry weather. I have them on my 17's with a 215/45/17 tire for summer and they are great. I have not had any problems and they last a bit and are not loud. I would go with the 4's they are good all around.

I've never tried the falkens before, but I'm going to say "Proxes 4's".

I have them in 215/45/17 as well. They stick to road in all weather conditions, except for snow. Even though the proxes 4's are suppose high performance all seasons. I'd treat them as a performance summer tire.

If your looking to use these as a summer tire, go the proxes 4's. If your looking to use them in the winter too, I'd stick away from the proxes 4's. They don't handle too well in the snow.

Well I can speak for my 512s. These tires are great for both dry and wet conditions. Downside is their threadlife, I'd say medium. Some hydroplane at higher speeds, 100mph and above..They wear out somewhat quick if you don't follow up on their schedule maintenace, but then again this would happen with any tire..
My first set only lasted one year, only because I didn't align the car and rotated the tires on time. I'm going on 6k on my 2nd set of 512s and they look great, plenty of thread front & rear. I too was deciding between these two brands, but stayed with my 512s. Hope that helps your decision.

i like the Toyos b/c of their treadlife. They are also nice on dry and wet conditions....I have them now. Before these I had the Yokohama Paradas. The dry traction was unbeleivable, but the threadlife was poor and wet conditions were pretty bad.

I like my Toyos.

I have the Proxes 4 as well. Everything said so far is true. I have the 215/40/17 and they are really nice. Of the 2 I'd say they have a nicer looking tread pattern as well.

i got a set of 512 on my 15's, i love them they are so much better than the stock. they stick like as if the pavement and the tire act like velcro. lol havent driven it in the rain yet, but ive hit a few patches of water and tried seeing if it would slip but they didnt and they help up. thats my 2cents on the falken 512

So far based on your comments I'm seeing that Proxes 4's has more treadlife than the 512's. I'm only gonna use these new tires for spring, summer and fall but not winter. I'll stick with stock tire for winter

I am going to buy a set of Axis MOD's (Black w/ Polished Lip) this summer that's why I'm choosing between these two brand of tires.

Keep up the comments. Thanks!

i have falken's on my 17's and they absolutely suck on snow or ice but on dry pavement i've never driven on a better tire. they never sqeek or screech or whatever and they've never lost grip. i've taken a 90 degree angle corner at 65 before without leaving the inside lane. they outperform anything i've ever seen driven on before.

He he..I can definately relate to that.

Pitch_Blcak, check out this site: http://edgeracing.com/tires/2055016/
They have great customer service and very good prices, ask for Tony. If you do get the Proxes, post your opinion about it after you test it..I may try them out as my next set.

I checked the site but they don't have any review for the Proxes 4. Also their a US company. I am in Canada so I think if I'm going to buy tires I'll buy it from here to save myself from taxes and duties Thank you tho.

ive had both on my car. toyos were alright, they were a bit loud in the rain and lasted decently. The falkens were quieter and better traction all year round but did not last that long. I got bridgestone potenza g-009 on my car now and there real good.

I had 512's sized 205/50/16. They were better in every category over stock (I had the Firestone FR690). From the reviews, I guess you have an idea of how they are. However, I went through 1 bad winter with them and I was fine.... but I am an extremely careful driver in the snow.
