Everyone is going to tell you the tire they have is the best one. Read the reviews on tire rack, elsewhere with lots of opinions.
I have had:
Kumho 712s
Yokohama ES 100s
Dunlop FM901s
I would buy the FM901s again any day. Good lip protector on a 215/40R17 tire and great traction. Tread is a little soft but keeping them rotated and properly balanced will ensure some good life.

I have only had two sets so far. The stock firestones and now a set of BFG Traction T/As. The T/As are about the same in road noise, seem to have less flex, obviously better dry traction and about the same as Firestones in wet traction.
I read all the reviews on tirerack and it was either these or Goodyear Assurance that looked to be the tops when I purchased. I'd also read a few guys on this site saying the T/As were good. Nobody complained about them or had anything bad to say, so I tried em. I'm not dissastisfied, but I can't tell you how they compare to the others mentioned.

I had the Toyo Proxies and loved them. I aslo had them on 18s on my truck and never had a problem. I was really satisfied with them and will continue to purchase them.
