Need Tire replacement suggestions for 2002 civic ex, and sizing question

Ok guys, Im coming up on 48000 miles on my stock firestone fr690s, and I would like to replace them. The problem is, I dont know which tire is the best all around for all season. I have heard everything from bridgestone potenzas, bf goodrich traction t/as(seems to be a favorite on here), and the goodyear triple tread tires.

Which tire would be the best for all season?

Also, should I stay with the oem size of 185/65/15 or should I move up a size(and if so, what size should I move up to on a stock rim?)

Thanks,

Aaron

wow....can't believe that ur still using that POS (fr690)! LOL!

anywho.....im also an owner of 2002 civic ex....to answer your question, i switched to 195/60/15 which is the "other" size for our vic.....its not our civic's original size, however, i believe its better to size it up to 195/60...

about the tires, what do you really need in this case?

are you just gonna drive ur car daily driving condition? or maybe ur gonna race it up a lil bit? or maybe....u want good sticky tires (=less thread life) for a good pull, curving?

imo, since im just a regular daily driver with couple of pulls with my car...i choosed the falken ziex-512 195/60/15 since its pretty much the cheapest good tires around here....

my other option was BF traction T/A (which my brother bought for his '00 SI)....

FYI....i bought my tires (ziex-512) on SEARS with PM....only costing about $36 each....

I just want tires that arent going to cost more than 400 bucks, and aren't going to be cheap tires either. I tow with my civic( a small standup jetski), so traction is needed. Obviously, Im sure any tire will be better than the stock firestones, but Id like the best all around tire if possible.

How are the traction t/as for our application, and how long are they lasting treadwise?

i am ordering the traction ta/t's right now from big-o. they are a 80k mile warranty tire. and i am only paying 387 out the door and that comes with free rotations and balancing every 5k miles.
