Need new tires/ please help me choose..

I've had Falken Ziex 512 on my ride for about a year now. They are very good tires, only problem is they wear out too quick..partly because of my driving style.
I'm considering between the Toyo Proxes 4 or Fuzion HRi, but the last one is made in part by Firestone so not sure yet on that one...
Opinnions/comments are welcomed..thanks in advance.

Longer wear = Less dry grip (just so you know) so if you drive hard, you may want to keep a "stickier" tire...

otherwise, the higher the UTQG # the longer the tread will last (its only really good for compairing tires from the same MFG though). the 1st A (or AA) is for Wet straight line brakeing traction (not wet cornering traction) A is good AA is better (this is directly compairable between MFG's) the 2nd A is Temperature rateing... A is the best.

Dont read too much in to the "Sruvey" info... as its based completely on opinion. (Theres no control group to make it a good reference as to the performance of the tires in question) its decent for a basic reference, but dont take it as fact.

Thanks Zzyzx..yeah I only thought of those numbers as basic opinnions, that's why I thought members' feedback here would be better..
I'll prolly try the T.Proxes 4 this time, even though they are kinda expensive, but I'm still undecided. It's hard choosing tires since the qualities you may gain on one, you may lose on the other as you stated with threadwear & grip..

^^You like them or you don't?
I think the Ziex 512 aren't all that bad. I've had them for about a year and as far as performance my only complaint is a bit of hydroplane at higher speeds. To be honest; overall, I think they are very good tires..
I've always had Falken tires, but I think I'll try something else next.

i just got the bf goodrich traction T/A h-rated. they are awesome!

i needed all-year tires that could handle some snow but also be good regular performers in the dry.

i gotta say, for all year tires these are damn good.

they cant really compare to azenis or something like that as far as grip and dry performance, obviously, but they are still great and very affordable.

After much back and forth, I've realized that for the price, the Ziex 512 are among the best tires out there. I was really planning to get the Proxes 4, but the threadwear on these is even lower than the 512s and I can't really complaint about the Falkens. Anyways, I got me a new set of 512s from EdgeRacing.com; only ($65 each tire, free shipping since they are in Miami), not bad I think. I'm sure if alignment, air pressure & rotations are done on schedule, I could probably get two years or even longer out of these tires. I realize that as long as the tires have even a bit of neg. camber, they'll start to wear out uneven, but can you guys recommended a camber set up in the front & rear for street use that would bring wear to a minimum and still obtain good cornering performance? Thanks again.

Mike.

cool. i love my proxes 4s but tirewear is pretty shatty for a daily driver, even when they only stay on 6 months of the year.

Yeah, threadwear is even lower on the Proxes 4, hence the reason why I chose to stay with the 512s.

I currently have the Fuzion ZRi's, and they're great!
Read the reviews on Tire Rack and 1010 Tires. They're made in Japan, and very sticky in dry and wet. I had Falken 451's before as well, great tires also.

I work at Just Tires, my opinion is stick with Ziex's. One of the lowest prices for good quality tires. Unless you want Toyo's and if so go for the lower model Azenis's or Hankook Ventus RS-2's which are really great. Thought about Dunlops tires? like FM 901 or for daily driving Dunlop Sport A2's. I myself am going for Dunlop FM 901's and Azenis. Since its winter stick with Ziex for its soft grip yet water tread.
