Hmmm

I don't know man. The SI does have a stronger engine. So of course it's going to perform better. As far as modding that engine...I have no idea because I never looked into it. I don't own an SI so my knowledge of the aftermarkets for it is weak.

As far as appearance. It's the coupe hands down. They just made that SI look too round'ish and the headlights totally kill it (too far up on the hood). And as for overall design....Bleh....Even the shifter is up high (where it should never be IMHO), and seems a bit strange. I test drove it and could not stand it.

So my vote would be coupe. Even if the engine does blow. Later on you can just swap or turbo charge it anyway to compensate.

BTW, I am not trying to hate on the SI's or anything, just giving my opinion as to what "I" think of both cars. Everyones tastes are different.

Its really just personal preference and yes you will get more performance from the Si thats what it was made for. And one more thing, the Si is not on the same generation as the regular civics. So the Si is not the 7th gen this year...

SI is all around a better car. aside from looks. but there's a difference in quality, way nicer seats, noticably quicker, improved handling, uglier in many eyes. hah anyway. if you want the better car but ugly duckling get the Si, if you want the better looks, and a car that's just a bit worse in almost every aspect, get the EX. But even to mod an EX to perform as well as an Si (new brakes, turbo or new engine, or lots of work on the D17, and suspension) would be a lot more than the difference in price. to make the interior as nice. well you can't. but you can try with seats, steering wheel, short shifter. but the quality is just not there.

I'd go for the coupe unless you just really like the si.

I bet the si will be a dog to resell privately down the road...

When I got my EX, I wanted an Si, but the cost was more, the insurance was more, and I'd have had to wait longer for it. I ended up with the EX which I like, but to be honest I wish I had the Si.

Then again if I really was going to do it again, I'd have gotten a used M3 for the same money.

Simply because they aren't selling well at the dealerships. The market buying them is too small for an easy sell imo. Plus, it seems like dealers are having to offer great deals to sell them. So, I feel like if they are having a hard time selling them new, one will have a hard time selling used.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Honda always had a hard time selling hatchbacks in the U.S. ? Then, a few years down the road, people are trying to pick up the used ones, which are hard to come by. If the current Si is a limited production vehicle (which I'm pretty sure it is), then in a few years demand will most likely out weigh supply. That's just the way I see it. Only time will tell.

Personally i think the Civic Coupe is a great deal, for someone who is going to college, its
nice and dependable and has some power...The Si is also nice, from what i read, the K engines are producing more power with boltons. All in all, u cant go wrong with both cars, its ur choice, Sport or Economy $2K diff....?? Thier both nice cars, i like the coupes they look sweet with body kits, i think thier a nice, and priced nicely!!

I would probably go with the SI. I'm not sure what to think of the styling quite yet, but the driving position is good and they have a little bit of power. .

I'm too young to drive a minivan. j/k

If you want to modify the car for performance, Si hands down. Engine responds well to mods and the cars are very cheap. But if you can't get passed the looks of the car and still want performance fix up the coupe if you have the skrilla to do an engine swap but more importantly do your homework, y0.
