new rims (for me atleast!)
new rims (for me atleast!)
a friend of mine had a set of poished aluminum 18"s laying around that he wasnt using so i threw them on my ride. i dont have the specs but will get them tonite and post pics. there seems to be like a whinding noise when driving and the car seems to sway to the right (alignment seemed perfect with stock wheels)... the rims were sitting for about 2 yrs so im sure the balance my need adjusting, tire pressure is good, need to replace bolts (using stock one's now), accelaration seems slower, rotation is in correct direction and my friend mentioned something about a spacer. any ideas what might be causing the whinding noise or swaying to the right?
I'm no expert, but either the swaying is just because no road is completely flat and always causes the car to go slightly right...or you just need to realign now that you have new rims. The acceleration is obviously going to be slower because, assuming you had less than 18" wheels before, they're heavier and require more time to rotate....not sure, but the noise is probably cause of the heavier wheel creating a different type of ride than you're used to.
