Red face Tire calculator Messing me up

ok so I have 205/60/15's right now. I want to go lower profile, but staying with 15's. 1st i don't know if this gonna look weird, but just trying it. I don't want to be +% too fast, nor to I want to be % too slow. I want to be about right. kinda how mu 205/60/15's are. Can i do anything about this without changin size of rim? Or does it matter really if you are +-2 or % too fast or slow? Lower profile mean bigger diameter? 205 going to a 215? in order to go from 60 to a 50 profile.

Plus size says to stay where I am. I want a adifferent look though with my 15in wheels.

thanks

Lower the profile number, shorter aspect. A 205/50 is 10% shorter than a 205/60. 2% error at 100 MPH means you're going 98 or 102. Its pretty minimal, your speedometer is off as it is, they're never calibrated perfectly. Mine reads about 1 1/2-2 MPH slower than what the ECU reads regardless of the tire size. If you want stock diameter tires, buy stock size tires, otherwise just get it close enough and call it a day. It really doesn't matter unless you plan on selling the car with low miles. If you intend to keep it for 60000+ miles, hell with the odometer, do what you want, it'll be pretty worthless by the time you sell it that 400 miles of error won't matter in the selling price.

I'm on 205/55R15, they look great and have minimal speedo error.

thanks boilmaker1, you've made me feel better about the affect of the tires and the mph reading. I think i will go with the lowe profile tire now.

thanks a bunch.
