Need New Brake Pads, But Too Lazy To Order
My first brake pad change was at 18k miles. I thought it was a fluke until I had to change them again at 40k. When I switched em myself I noticed that my old pads were wearing unevenly, like less padding on top and more on the bottom. My shop said it was cuz I had a bad brake caliper, so I switched that and got new pads at the same time. I'm now at 60k miles and even after switching calipers I need to change pads again. I guess it's just the way I drive.
Well anyways, I'm not much of a racer so I don't need like performance pads or anything. I just wanna pick something up at like Advance Auto or Autozone and switch them real quick. Anyone recommend any decent brands for a good price?
I've tried the wearever golds that were like 30 bucks at Advance auto. Those pads didn't even fit. I hadda rub them against the ground and wear them in order to get them to fit. I'm looking for some pads in the same price range cuz if I spend $50 I might as well get like AEM or something. Anything decent will work, and yes I know not to get lifetime pads.
I asked a co-worker what he had and he said he had EBC Greenstuff, which I read was pretty bad from reviews here. I told him about it though and he says people are getting that sound because they aren't breaking them in right. He said ur suppose to go easy on them for the first 600 miles. Well anyways, I'm gonna be doing this my next day off which is Tuesday so if anyone had any decent recommendations I would appreciate it. thanks

uhh you dont rub your pads to make it fit onto your caliper, you push in the valve that pushes the pad onto the rotor, overtime when the pad wears out the valve pushes out in order for the pad to make contact with the rotor. SO what your doing is making ur new pad cut in half to make it fit.
I was gonna say that I have a set of Wear Golds, that I would send to you for dirt cheap, but I was surpised by your statement of them not fitting. Did you compress your caliper all the way?
Just curious

Hawk pads aren't sold over the counter and like I said this sound is driving me nuts and I'm gonna have to change em tomorrow. Freddy aka SexCivic can vouch that the Wearevers didn't work for him either.
