I just got new rims (still uninstalled) and on the way to the bay area, a trucker kindly handed me some debris and one of my stock Firestones exploded.
So, I'm getting a new set (maybe Falkens?) in a few hours. So, should I hold onto my steelies and caps or let the dealer eat them?
Also, the rims are 03 stock alloys. Will 205/60/15 fit on them?

205/60 is an enormous tire. Look at the tire calculator. The dealer will not take your steelies back. The junk yard might, or someone else might take them off your hands. Most people keep them for the winter.

I ended up saving them. A little more mass in the car on the trip back, but maybe I'll have a use for them in the future.
I also chickened out on the 205/60's and put 195/60 Falkens on (at $70/tire).
