will 225/40/18 rub on 01 civic coupe

hello. right now i have 18x7 1/2 RH c2 evos on 215/35/18 tires. the drop is unknown but there is a one pinky finger gap between the front/rear tires and the fenders. i was thinking of running 225/40/18 since they cost as much as the 215/35/18 tires. im tired of the harsh ride of the 35s and want the protection of the 40s( i already cracked one rim b4). is anyone running 225/40/18 out there?
please give me feedback....how does it look compared to 35 series? will it rub?

i know they make 215/40/18, but for some reason they are more expensive. i dont want to roll my fenders and might get a rear camber kit in the future, so r these my best bet....or is 225/40/18. thanks........

Vantage should not be trusted
my guess is by running a 225/40 u will rub. My friend rubbed using 225/45/17's and his car wasnt lowered, it only rubbed over bumps, but my guess is urs will rub all the time or close to.

215/35/18 should've been the safest tire to ride on to avoid rubbing/fitting issues. by upgrading to 225/40/18, rubbing will get worse. 215/40/18 seems more reasonable choice since your avoiding the harsh ride of 35 series tires. would you consider 205/40/18? thats if your rim width is less than 8"

I have 225/40/18's with a 1" drop and its not that bad. You have to be careful over bumps with the backend and try to go slow over railroad crossings. Other then that you're fine. The 40 series tire will really save your wheels from potholes.

Yeah I did...I picked mine up off of eBay from a dealer in MI for $250 shipped (pre-painted from Honda and everything).
