Urgent Help/feedback on tire /steering wheel shake
I just put on 17's with 205/45's Hankook Ventus (package deal) They claimed mounted and "balanced"....Right!!! My steering wheel shakes out of my hand only between 45 & up...So I took them to get balenced on the Road Force maching @ Goodyear..I guess it acts like the car is on the road or something..anyway they added and moved weights around.......100 bucks later....No difference. WTF? It makes me so mad I could sell the wheels...Please help with posible fix. Am I the only one?PS: I have center rings on the new wheels
Let me guess, you ordered from wheelmax? I just got my wheels with the same tires. My problem isnt as bad as yours. My car pulls to the right a lot and the the new rubber hums. And yes i made sure the rotation was the right way. Anyhow I was also contemplating on getting them balanced locally to see if that was the problem. Wheelmax claims they used a computerized system to accurately balance the wheels so I wasn't sure if getting them balanced again would do anything. Maybe its just the tires? Let me know if you find out anything.
does this only happen when u guys have the aftermarket wheels on? does it go back to normal after u put the stock wheels back on?
it could more likely be a crap mount and balance job and/or alignment issue. gotta keep in mind after lowering/raising/alternating tire size, it can affect your alignment meaning your car would lean or act stupid

I havent tried putting the stock wheels back on, but my car was fine before I put the new ones on. So you would recommend getting an alignment with new wheels? FYI I went from stock 15" to a 17"
is your car dropped? when i lowered my car, my car would lean to the left or the right and still goes. i never got to an alginment because it didnt eat up my tires and im fine with it. idk how hazardous it could be, but i plan to swap coilovers pretty seen anyways.
whats your suspension set up like?
i wouldnt go an alignment quite yet until figure out what exactly the problem is. msot likely, if you bought the wheels that came with free mounting and balancing, theres a reason why it was "free". i would bring the wheels to a professional tire/wheel shop and have them REmount and balance it. my best guess is it'd cost $20 per wheel? idk how much shops charge for it.

Yeah...I agree with being the tires..I put the stock back on and had no problems. It just makes me so mad! I guess I'll try to have them re-mounted to see what that does.
