why does it have to be the 1.7? you can use the SiR (EP3) as well. I would do it...it's an easy swap and nice to have 4 wheel disc for sure.

yes...he has a civic and I guess his thread title just means that he's asking if he should do the EL rear brake swap.

yea....sorry...thats what I meant....^^^^^^

yeah pharoh, I was completely under the impression that the SiR came with a 5 lug setup...I was wrong...so yeah, what would be involved in the conversion, seeing that I have Tein Basics all around would that make a difference...the only reason why I mentioned the 1.7 is because I figure its the EXACT same as our Si's (EX in America) so I wouldn't have any issue with the suspension...

keep in mind Im not to familiar with this conversion and what is done, parts needed...care to shed some light while I do my search at the same time

well you're partially right...the '04 SiR has 5 lug...I believe all previous years (I know the '02/'03 for sure) have 4 lug.

We swapped an '02 SiR rear setup onto a '02 LX Sedan with relative ease. Only tricky part was slightly bending a guide under the car for the e-brake cable....not a big deal at all.

yes you can still use the coilovers....only thing that gets swapped out is the lower control arms and they're exactly the same. It's no easier swapping out of either the EL or the SiR..for the SiR you literally only have to bend the guide on your car by about an 1/8" max. There are gromets for both sides of the e-brake....use your own, the SiR stuff doesn't fit....EL probably would but it's all relative.

Like I said...either one is a snap.
