Hey guys,
A thought dawned on me today that instead of airing my Pirelli 215/35 18in. tires to 35 PSI, which I thought was close to factory, I should look on the side wall of the tire and find the correct PSI.
I found that the recommended tire pressure for these tires is 50 PSI !!!
But it seems too much pressure for such a little tire when my factory tires are only 30 PSI & alot bigger than the tires I have now. So I just aired the tires to 40 PSI, noticed the car picked up quicker, but the ride is more stiff.
So what do you recommend........follow the 50 PSI or stick with 35 PSI? Thanks!

Rep Power: 400 it probably says MAX recommended pressure. No tire has a recommended PSI, that depends on the car. But they tell you a level that you shouldn't exceed.

Rep Power: 262 My tires hold 50 PSI max too. I have toyo proxes 4's, and I would never set my tires at 50 or even close to that. Right now, my tire pressure is set at 35 psi. I just put on my tires 2 days ago, so I'm gonna experiment anywhere between 30-35 psi.
I would recommend setting it at around 30-35 psi.

Dont Fill Your Tires With 50 Psi Your Asking For Trouble .........that Lable On The Tire Is Just To Let You Know Of The Max Psi The Tire Can Hold ....you Should Put 35 Psi In Your Tires , While Your Tires Are Cold ( Example.... In The Morning) Why? Because Heat Has A Tendancy To Expand (while Driving) And If You Put 35 Psi While Your Tires Are Cold Then That Air Has A Much Better Chance Of Expanding But Not Exceding The Max Psi So Just Imagine what can Happen If You Are Riding On Tires Filled With 50 Psi .......if You Still Dont Believe Me Do A Little Science Project Stick A Coke Can In You Car , Windows Up, (on A Hot Day) And Watch What Will Happen When Heat Expands In That Coke Can
