Brake Rotor/Pads Question
Hey guys im getting my nice new HFP (split-7 spoke) wheels on soon and soon after i am considering upgrading to better rotors and pads since my car stops like crap.
I am wondering if this is a good setup for the price:
Brembo blank rotors $100
EBC Greenstuff pads$63
Total: $163
or
Brembo Sport (slotted) rotors $165
EBC Greenstuff pads $63
Total: $228
The prices are from dezod.com. Anyway will the slots make them too weak to handle the sub-zero temps here in PA for a few months for the next 4 years and would the slotted benefit me any on really hot days? Ive never upgraded brakes before so I have read alot but still want opinions/pics of these rotors. Also how are these pads? Worth the price?
Thanks guys.

I've heard bad stuff about the EBC Greenstuff. They seem to be harsh on rotors. Personaly I don't think you'll need the slotted rotors especially if the car is used mostly for daily driving. Id go with the blanks and hawk hps.

So blanks and hawk hps? sounds cool.
are the hp's good for daily driving though since they are labeled 'race'. i want them to bite hard but i dont want them to wear quickly!
from what i heard...they bite hard...however, hawk's really nice with the rotor.....so it'll prolong the life for the whole set..
another thing....i also heard that hawk's really good in term of brake dust =)

good to know. so brembo blanks and hawk hp pads are the way to go for a decent price too?
my "original" combo was brembo blanks + AEM Nissin...
however, some sources said that brembo blanks doesn't perform that good (as was said many times).....when they tested it....somehow...i forgot....

Brembo blanks should be about $40-$50 shipping included. There's no reason to get anything more than that. For pads. Hawk HP or Axxis Ultimates will stop best, but stopping power comes with dust and rotor wear. Choose your tradeoffs. I'd avoid greenshit if you're going to drive it hard. Too many people I know have reduced those pads to junk in no time.

Yeah, Nopi has the rotors for $31/each plus shipping, but shipping and customs is $20/each to canada
Slotted and xdrilled rotors will provide negligible street performance, they're mainly aesthetic for street use. Brembo blanks are quality rotors with a high carbon content than honda rotors. I use blanks with Hawk HPS and they work really well.
AND... Hawk's have FAR LESS brake dust compared to honda oem pads.

I didn't know the Brembo rotors are selling that cheap. I'm getting mine through my uncle's shop for $23.74 each (no shipping obviously), but I thought this was like a really good price, didn't know they were going for $29 each online.
