Hawk(hps) or Hawkceramic pads?
Okay guys, getting ready to change my breaks. I will be getting brembo blanks, and new shoes for the drums in the rear. But i am unsure about the stoping power of the two pads. Are the ceramic pads same as oem in stoping power? I would just be using the car for daily driving. Thanks for your imput.

the ceramic ones should be a little better than stock (because stock brakes suck) where the hps is a performance style brake. if its just daily driving either would be fine, but the hps will have a little better stoping power.

HP+'s are the **** if you don't mind your car making more noise then most transit busses. I ran on a track for 2 days and only wore like 1/8 of a inch off of them.

i used them before.....they squeak but that's only because you have to heat them up first. Once you got them heated there fine.

don't forget...
I suggest that you do the burnishing processus (spell ???)
or you will glaze the pads very easily. I skip this step when
I instal my HPS and that's the problem I have. These pads
work way better than the stock ones !

Hmm, I didn't do the burnishing process... Whatever that is. Is it when you go fast, brake hard, slowly brake, all that in order to break in the pads? I asked the guy who did my brakes whether you have to do that or not and he said it was unecessary. What does it actually do?
Ok, the bed in process give you a consistant braking power
and the ability to accept more heat. I did not do that w/ mine
and I glazed the pads. Now they brake like sh\t, I lost all the
modulation (ability to controll). When I press hard on the pedal,
it stop good but at first, when they were new, the power was
way better than that. I'm hard on brakes, next time, I will try
the HP+.
Sorry for spelling, I hope you understand.

Yeah it's better to bed in the HPS, as for burnishing, I believe they're burnished at the factory.
I recently installed Hawk HPS and Brembo blacks, awesome combination, i haven't really tested the braking though since I've been going easy. But they work so well, that on snow, the ABS kicks in really early... even on the lightest braking.
I've also been told that replacing the brake fluid with something like Motul will yield a noticeable difference. But i guess getting a less hygroscopic (i dunno the "automotive" term for it) will yield better performance anyways.

I have the HPS and Powerslot's. They are perfect for each other. The paper work that comes with the Powerslot'd say to use Hawk HPS. The Hawp Race pads are nasty but they need to get warm and they hummmm...kinda cool.
