help! no traction in rain

ok for some reason my rear side seems to have no traction but front is good. On highway speeds I can feel the car having no traction and sliding. Its only when it rains alot. Does anyone know why I am having this problem? my rear tires are bald on one side because of the camber and its old. Fronts have been changed a week ago. Should I change the back immediately too? I use yokohama es100 tires

umm, I know the es100s are crappy in rain/snow. Here in cali it doesnt rain that much. Its been decades since it rained this much. I cannot afford to have winter tires seperate. When I got an alignment the tech told me it wouldnt be as good as it would be with a camber kit. Im going to get a camber kit for rears cuz fronts r good. I have to drive like 60 to get traction. If I go like 70-75 in hard rain I will feel tires in the rear sliding. I think its because the rears have no more thread left at all. I mean none at all.
So should I get new tires for rears first or get camber kit then tires..? suggestions would be appreciated.

If you can't afford it just drive 60. If you can afford it get the camber fixed and get some new tires.

tire manufacturers reccommned having your best tires on the rear of the car, regardless of whether it is FWD or RWD. having bad rear tires changes the handling characteristics, and you have pretty much said you either can't handle it or just don't like it.

if you drive 70-75 in the rain you're being retarded though. no tires will solve that

first get some rear camber kits, then some new tires, finally slow down in the rain. My yoko parada spec 2's start to hydroplane in puddles around 70 ish I slow down to 65 or so and its no problem. They only hydroplane when the water is puddling up on the freeway.

lol i learned the hard way to keep the better tires in the back. about a year ago i was driving home from my ex girl's house in pouring rain. this is when i had my stock firestones on with about 19,000 miles on them. those tires SUCKED! i had just recently rotated them and the rears were bald from all the stupid burn outs i did when the car was new. anyway, i was taking a right turn at about 60 on the highway that my car usually takes with no problem. the rear end just came out ever so slightly and i began counter steering to try to catch it. it was too late. the car did a 180 and went into the guard rail. did another 180 and went head first into the huge yellow bins filled with sand and water at about 35 mph. i though my car was totally wrecked. i get out of the car and there was no ****ing body damage!!! only a few minor scratches on the front bumper and like 1/4 of my lip cracked from hiiting the half foot curb befor the guard rail. that was the luckiest day of my life and really taught me a lesson. always keep the better tires in the back and drive slow in the damn rain! btw now i have falken ze 512's to protect my ***. hope this helps you...

Go with BFG GForce KDW....they have been great in the rain for me. And as a tire dealer, we recommend new tires always go on the rear. Some people don't like it, but at least we have recommended it.

I cant believe you dont know why you get no traction when your tires are bald. This was a waist of a thread. Get a camber kit, they arent that much. Than get new tires, and alignment RIGHT after. You will get better traction. I drive 70-90 in the rain and get good traction. get it all fixed.

Wow... you're driving that fast in THIS rain? Holy crap man you're crazy. I dunno though, I still have the stock firestones with 52,XXX on them and I've driven 70 without any problems in the rain.

No joke man... Common Redline, slow it down in the rain so you can keep control of your car... Hydroplaning happens to most people, but when going excessive speeds in hard rain your bound to have an accident. Use some common sense.

Didn't you ever learn in driving school [or at least, by common sense] that you should drive about ten miles per hour under the posted speed limit?? They weren't joking...

blah blah blah... i dont go 70-75 I go around 60. Yokohamas arent that great in the rain but its ok. I rotated my tires today. Hopefully it rains again so I can see if the same thing will happen. For all you people that told me I should have the new tires in the back and the bald tires in the front. If I die today, remember it is your fault and I will haunt you for life..

for those people that told me to move the new tires to the back and bald tires to the front, are you sure the same thing wont happen, but in front?

Think of it this way...

when your rear tires lose traction you spin. when your front tires lose traction you go in a stratight line.... which would you perfer?

it really doesnt matter if your doing 60 or even 50,, rain is rain, and hydro planeing is hydro planeing, my father was driving to work one morning, on the 15 fwy and he was doing 55-60 it wasnt even raining the roads were wet from the earlyer (he went to work around 5:30) then my mother gets a call from my dad, turns out, hey hydro planed high 98 dodge dakoda (weighed down about 500+ pounds of equipment) and flip'd it on its side) the truck wasnt total'd but just goes to show you it dont take much....and his tires were perfect.

p.s i know my spelling is screwd but its late, and i just got off work...

well i took cig break but thats about it. had my woman come outside to watch me thats prolly why. girls and machines dont mix... kept talking to me etc... anyways the stock jack stands are whack man. if it was a lever one I would do it in under 5 mins bro. Did I forget to add, I had to remove subs and bottle to get the jackstand?
that wont happen anymore cuz the stand is at the edge so I wont need to remove everything unless i need my spare.
