205/40/17

hey guys today i called wheelsnext.com to order my rims. i spoke to some guy named leo and he told me the tires 205/40/17 would not work for my civic. he said they were meant for the older civics like 96-2000....he told me that i need 235/45/17?

is this correct? cuz if it is it will cost 100.00 more

205/40 will work if you are dropped but if you are stock or dont plan on dropping 215/45 and some people even run 225/45 but the 235 wont work

^^werd....plus also keep in mind that the 205/40 are gonna suck as far as ride comfort goes especially if you're lowered. I know trust me because I've been riding on that tire size for over 5 years straight until now.

i am dropped on progress springs with 205/40/17 the ride is rough. when i get new tires i will most likely do 205/45/17 since it has a bigger sidewall and almost exactly the same size overall as stock

This is true which is why if you're at stock height already and plan on staying that way, I would not recommend the 205/40's. Plus they look way too small on a 7th gen at stock ride height.
