Cheap *** all seasons...
Ok, quick question...
Im going skiing in Colorado for my honeymoon in a month, & my tires now are SHOT, dangerous even on dry texas roads. This is unacceptable for a 1400+ mile road trip, plus if theres snow on the roads, im screwed. Now im already paying 2 grand on this trip, so I dont really want to spend any more on the civic, & since shes no longer my fun car I really dont care what tires are on her, just as long as they are cheap & half way descent.
Now, im looking at these Kumho all seasons...
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ring+A%2FS+795
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....uring+Plus+732
They are both 'rated' right with the Kumho 712s I have on there now, & I was happy with those tires, so they seem like a good deal, but I just need some real world advise on this.
I am leaning toward the 732s in the link, because the 795s have goofy sizing options, & I couldnt get anything that wouldnt look like balloons, plus the 732s are moderately cheaper.
Thanks guys

I've never ran either of those tires.... BUt I have had good sucess with The Continental ContiExtremeContact.... you may want to look in to it. a 15" should run you in the $70 range.

When it comes time to get rid on the POSs on the Miata, I will probably spring for those, its the more deserving car at the moment
Maybe consider Kumho ECSTA HP4 716

I put a set of these, 205-60-15 on my g/f's 03 EX coupe. Great all season tire. Respectable ratings on TireRack. Worked fine in two northern CO winters. Kinda noisy on certain road materials, but that could be from keeping the tires a few pounds under max pressure. If you are looking for a performance tire, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a $44 or less tire, this one could be an option.

Um.... you do realize that the Max PSI listed on the side of the tire is the MAXIMUM PSI the tire is rated to contain... Not the PSI that the tire is recomended to run at..... the proper tire preasure for your car is listed on the sticker in the driver door pannle.... and for a Civic its 30 Psi front and rear.

i put these on the stock civic wheels http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....l=Turanza+LS-T
and they handled themselves very well in most conditions. my only qualm was that they obviously didnt handle as well as my hankook ventus'. maybe its because of the higher sidewall.
theyre definitely not as cheap as the khumos though so i dont even know why im posting this. haha

Does Discount do price matching?? Tirerack has them for $40.
Sears carries them also.
Gotta calculate the mounting, balancing, taxes, etc into the equation. I did that, and it was like $10-15 total more to go with a local Sears or a local Discount Tire. I was in a hurry also, otherwise I would have pry got some from the Internet.

I have been doing this to all my tires on my non-7thgencivic since it was purchased new at the end of 1991. No problems relating to PSI. No irregular treadwear due to PSI.
