I have been wanting to go snowboarding, and the only way up the mountain is with chains, so any particularly good? I have 17 rota suberzos with 215/45/ 17 summitomo(sp?) tires and i think they have great wet traction but not sure about the snow. So should i get chains if im going? thanks

i wouldnt use chains.. get some blizzacks on your steelies, and you should do fine... so you gotta spend an hour swapping wheels.. so what...

If you were to chain up your wheels, you should use your stock steelies or cheaper wheels. Chains can f*ck up your tires badly if you ride on them for while. When my friend used chains, they left indentations in the tires, and a few small punctures.

Buy some studded snow tires. On dry, they blow. On snow and ice, they rock.

i think u can still use studded tires during certain months of the year, not postive though. they make snow tires today that are almost as good as a studded tire and decent on dry roads also. try some continental contact conti sports....they are a decent all year round tire that is great in the snow and they arent very expensive through tire rack. get 2 for your front steelies and youll get up the hill with out much of a problem.
