Tire Clearance?
This may have been covered already and forgive me if it has but has anyone else with a LX had problems with 18x7.5's clearing the wheel wells? I'm not sure where exactly the rubbing noise is coming from but it only happens when i bust a hard u-turn(the steering wheel is turned all the way in one direction)! The sad thing about it is I dont even have a drop and it's rubbing! Here is a mind boggler! My friend who has a EX bought my wheels from me and I told him that he might need some wheel spacers in the front to clear the wheel wells! After we got the wheels on, we took it for a test drive, and guess what, NO RUB! The only difference between his car and mine is that I have an LX with body kit and he has an EX without a body kit. Are the wells on the EX's larger than the LX? I know that the EX's come factory with 15's and the LX with 14's! Anybody have any suggestions?
you gotta expect it with a 7.5" wide wheel. i think thats the widest size rim our civics can handle without specific modification. but how bad is the noise? is it really loud and annoying you?
even though your not dropped, u can still rub with busting a u-turn. i have an ex 02 and had 215/45/17 with a 7.5" wide rim, i was dropped about 2" with no gap all around and had no problem whatsoever with rubbing.
you can try wheel spacers? but i dont know how those work

the wheel wells are no different. i have 17x7's or 7.5's i dunno anymore but i am close to fender rub with my drop but without it i had problems with the inside of the back of my front tires rubbing against the wheel well its not going to cause critical damage. but just turn the wheel a little less and you wont hear it anymore
