Rotors

Well the other day i took my rotors to have them turned since i have those ebc greenstuff pads everybody is having problems with... and my pass. side rotor was so warped it had to be turned 4 times.... so none the less i will be needing new rotors soon... wondering which you all recommend? i dont rally or anything like that, just a daily driver... also which is better slotted or drilled?

Thanks,

Injen

P.S. I will be keeping the ebc greenstuff pads on since they have 3/4 of the pad left.

Brembo blanks. Forget slots and holes, they'll make warping problems worse.

I second that...

1. Drilled rotors should be avoided in High performance applications.
2. Slotted rotors may be worth it as they help reduce the chance of glazing pads.... But do you really want to wear through a set of $70+ Slotted rotors or a set of $40+- set of blanks, were there will be little to no difference in stopping or brake performance?

i also have one, if i get brembo blanks, should i keep the ebc pads or get new ones? Keep in mind i wont be rallying or street racing, just daily driving.

OEM and brembo are basically the same guys. After venturing out into the brake manufacturing market and seeing how brake discs are made by aftermarket companies (not oem), the metal compisition is nearly the same. Im guessing that brembo adds some stronger metal components to make them last longer. Enjoy!

Brembo's venting system seems to be better, or they've heat treated the rotors differently, but they seem to be far more durable than the stock rotors. I cracked my stock rotors using stock pads. I've been using much more agressive pads with the brembos and have had no issues, despite probably braking much harder.

I say get the Brembo blanks and either some AEM or Hawk pads. Ditch those shitass EBC Greenstuffs. They caused me many headaches.

I had a set of the EBC Greenstuff and ProStop rotors (slotted and dimpled). Sure, they stopped killer at first, but after a few months my stopping distances increased.

Just a few weeks ago, I went to change my pads to the Hawk HPS. Well, it looks like the EBC Greenstuffs basically cooked my rotors and now they're glazed over. I still put the new pads on anyway, but I'm going to have to see if I can get these rotors turned. I think it's going to be a bitch since they're slotted and dimpled. I don't think it's gonna happen. So, it looks like I'm out $150 on these rotors. I might just get my OEMs resurfaced or spring for a set of Brembo blanks.

Stay away from the EBCs. I'm warning everybody. They're total ****.
