I have used the search extensively and have not found a definite answer to my question. I have a 03 si and im looking to get 225 tires. The rims will be either Rota circuit 10's 17x7.5 (+45) or Rota Circuit 8's 16x7 (+40). My question is if i can fit a 225/45/17 or 225/50/16 without rubbing. I will be getting the progress coilovers. I know that everyone runs the 215/45/17 without problems but im asking only about the 225's. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Rep Power: 400 I don't really see why? The gearing on a 225/45 is taller than stock, hence slower.
225/40 maybe. Width doesn't seem to be an issue... they fit provided theres enough offset. on a +45, 7.5" wheel, you can probably forget about it. on a 40 7" maybe. I'm getting a set of +35, 15x7s to be sure I can get a 225 in there without hitting the suspension.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah I took my rims off 2 weeks ago and I could see where my 215/45/17 had been rubbing a little on the rears but it wasn't bad considering I have had them on for 2 yrs. As for 225/45/17 it would rub on my civic but I don't know about the SI.
