good ride for 18" wheels
well i will be getting some 18s for my sedan soon and was wondering wat tire size would be good for ride quality between these 3:
225/40 was suggested to me by topfuel because of a better ride quality. it rubs a bit but not too much - was said by topfuel.
205/40 and 215/40 i really wanted to try 205/40 because it would be a perfect match for the car to have the same speed and such as if i were driving with the stock 15s and stock tires on em too. i dont really know about the 215 tho
wat im mainly looking for is ride quality and mileage and not looks. cuz this is gonna go on my daily driven car
so my question is wat is so bad about having a 205 or 215/40 on 18x7.5(or 7) on the car. also out of the 3 tire sizes i picked wat would be good for the car.

My mileage with 18 inch chrome Sacchi s7's and 225/40's isn't too bad. About 36 mpg interstate/25 mpg city. I'm selling my rims though and getting possibly 17s but more likely 16s since the roads in KY are ****. I have to sacrifice looks for sidewall.
my 04 coupe is running chrome 18 x 7.5, and 215-35-18s all around. They look like rubberbands on the rims, but they seem to do really well, good traction, hit a few big bumps almost every day, haven't dmaged them yet though. I think the 215-35-18 is like 1 100th taller than the stockers so at 65 I may be going 66, if you get them taller your speedo may say you're drivin 60 but you may be going 70 lol.

ok im still deciding on wat tires and now im thinking about the size of the wheel. do you guys think that with the 40 series 215 tire and 18s with a 1.5" drop with tien s techs would look ok? i mean would it look big on a sedan? or should i go with some 17s on 215/40 tire with my 1.5" drop?
does anyone have pics of there ride on 18s with a 1.5" drop or 17s with a 1.5" drop? thanks

Ill post some pictures soon I am running 18" Chromies, just put about 3" Drop on my car tires are 215-35-18 Car drives and handles really good now. before dropping it felt like a caddy, now it's more like a new Beamer. The ride is suprisingly smooth considering the drop and the tire profile.

also there is no rubbing with your setup? and would you think i need a camber kit?

, is it like underground or what
, anyways i just got some 215/35/18, i think these are the best for 18's, 215's the perfect width and 35 make them look bigger

My opinion:
215/35 - Best for looks
215/40 - Recommended, closest to OEM Spec
225/40 - Little more cushion, more comfort
I have 215/35...and love the way it looks...ride is pretty decent!

depends on the drop...not sure about the tien s techs. Anyone else know this?
As for correcting it, I believe it you get a camber kit it'll rub more..not less. Just get 215/40/18 and be done with it, you'll be fine.
