experiences with exel's
experiences with exel's
was looking at that rimstogo place, i need to get rid of my steelies at some point. i'm kinda of liking these axis mesh 2's or these enkei rs6's.. butttttttt.... there are some wheels on there i'm confused about, the brand is exel? never heard of them, and they seem to be pretty low priced. i'm guessing they are knock offs, which i don't have a issue with if they are decent quality. i've heard rota does a good job in this area, just curious if anyone's had any problems with these things before.

Few of my friends had Exel rims & none of them are happy with it. Well, I've seen many bent Exel rims. I would say go for Rota. They aren't the best but when it comes to knock off rims, my opinion, I would say Rota is the best.
right on. wasn't really considering rota's, i've just heard that rota's are good quality for being knock offs. i think i'll end up going with the enkei's or axis'. still got a couple months to decide, don't want to put them on now since winter will be here soon.

It is funny how I have Exel wheels and have NO complaints. The only reason rims bend are because the driver doesnt drive around the potholes. Don't try and blame the wheels for bending, when you drove into the pothole.
there are plenty of road obstructions around here when driving though, because the main streets seem to be underconstruction all the time. just want to make sure i have something that can hold up. think i'm going to end up going with the enkei's an import shop here in indy said they should be able to get a good deal, minus shipping too. we'll see. thanks for the opinions though.
garage in fishers i believe, guy i met that works there actually worked in castleton, called to inquire on the enkei's tonight and i get a long line of bs but, i guess he had tried doing this 2 times before and has failed at actually succesfully running a tuner shop. suddenly i'm iffy. i've read about another place around here though, IIP, and modern speed labs. otherwise it's back to the net for wheel shopping.

I'd call rimstogo.com (1.877.408.4348), Eddie will hook you up. The only places I know in indy are: IIP(west side), AFS(west side), Omega Motorsports(north side). I've been to all of them, and they all seem a little over priced.
yea, I saw some guy at wendy's on lunch break in a purple-looking honda with bronze rims. wasn't sure what kind of rims almost looked like circuits. had an IIP and AEM sticker on it though. Was going to talk to the guy but I was stuck in the drive thru, didn't want to follow him inside, that'd be weird. heh.
you hang with any other import people in town? i've got a buddy who lives on the west side with a black 6th gen, completely kitted with urethane, forget what wheels he has, i think motegi's. last time i saw it he had just put a gauge pod on the driver side pillar, not sure if he is boosting now. hopefully by spring/summer i'll be able to start taking it to some meets, without being 100% stock.
