on looks i would say 17s cause with 215 45 you still got enough cushion for a decent ride , and if your in it for looks its good enough, but then again you would be satisfied with 16s or somethin else, depends really on what you want to do with the car, show it off or drive it
If you just want "looks", go with 18s.. (you'll lose some power), but if you want to keep your performance, stick with 16s. Don't go with anything bigger because you're gonna lose a lotta power!

rijowysock, you friggin kill me man, ha ha.
BTW thanks to you and all your crazy American 19" rim cohorts, I finally picked up some 19's....told my gf to move out of her hometown with the crappy roads so I don't have to roll there this summer, hahahahaa.....
To answer the original question, anything bigger than 16's on stock height will look like a 4x4.

If you are going for performance, a smaller wheel is the better choice. but for looks.... just about any thing will work. but you may want something with a taller side wall to try and disguise the larger wheel gap the stock suspension causes.

Id say stock, lower it!! youll look like an SUV, i dont think the car looks right with rims and no lowering. Lower the car first it looks good on the stock ex wheels
Well I agree, lower it first, then rims... I didnt though...but my way got really expensive (not how i planned).
I bought 215/45/17...without a drop filled the wheel well pretty good...went to lower on my Tein SS i bought about 2 months later and scrubbed like a ****, so I didnt know what to do. I didnt want to raise up the suspension (full adjustable coilovers) so I went back to Discount Tire (where i bought my 215/45/17 2 months before) and bought new tires (205/40/17) and thus, no more scrubbing.
But then you will be sick of having 17s, and want bigger. I always said I would never go on 19s or get a body kit (i only liked lip kits) and yada yada yada. Now I have a body kit and 19s.... Just go with big to start with and you will probably be happier later on...least that was my experience.
