Spongy brakes

I have Hawk pad, Power slot rotor, steel brake lines and Motul racing brake fluid on my 02 EX now, The stopping power is acceptable, but my brakes still feel spongy. I have to push it really hard and deep to stop it.
I drove my friend's stock RSX Type-S for a week and that car stop way better than my car. The padel feel of the RSX is way better than mine. btw, I had fun in that car

Should I get a new master cyclinder? I have notice my Motul brake fluid turns dark after only 3 months of use.

I have done everything to impove brake performance.

Sounds like you have air in the brake lines. that is the main cause of a spongy pedal. Try bleeding them and see if it helps.

Also I have heard from alot of members that the slotted rotors take away from the stopping ability. But basically I have hawks too and I have a nice, hard pedal. I just think your you have air in the system.

I bleed the brake fluid already and change it from Honda OEM fluid to Motul racing fluid, it didn't help.
I am ok with the stopping power of my set up, just want better pedal feel.
Will a Si master cyclinder or brake booster fit our car?

You may have glazed your pads.... that will cause you to have to ues excessive preasure to get the pads to bite.

BTW, Motul, although having a great wet and dry boiling points also has a tendency to absorb water fairly quickly, forcing you to flush the fluid more often Not just bleeding them.

so the brake booster and master cyclinder have nothing to do with it??
my car actually have the spongy brake since the first couple times I overheated the pad, after that I had try eveything to impove the feel, I had 3 different pads, 2 different rotors , 2 kinds of bake fluid and steel brake lines, it improved the braking power, but not the feel.

I really like the RSX's brakes, it stops when you just touch the pedal.....

to be honest, my Civic's brakes is the worst among many other stock cars I have driven
every people drove my car say I have air in the lines, but NO WAY I just flushed them last month!

I can live with no power, but no brakes

what do you expect when you buy a 17k car, you arent going to get top notch brakes.

Now you need to go ever everything in your braking and check it all. Just cause you flushed your brake fluid last month, doesnt mean you did it right, Sometimes people introduce more air into there lines when they bleed them then they started out with.

your not doing something right or something isnt working properly because most everyone on here with aftermarket pads and rotors loves them. my brakes were spongy like yours when I first put my hawk pads on, but when I went to get them bleeded, man they were stiff as a rock. And stopped on the dime. And still do. I would check over your fluid again. I still think you have air in the lines. And if you are overheating your pads, you need to go to higher temp pads.
