tire/wheel dilema

i just rotated my tires today, and i noticed just how bad the tread is getting. it's pretty bad, deffinately need to be replaced ASAP.
my problem is this; i want to get rims too, because stock steelies suck. and i'd hate to burn $200-$300 on a set of tires that i'm just going to get rid of.
by friday i'll have a little bit of money.
fuzion is selling his 17" black 5 zigen rims with low pro wanley tires with 75% tread for $400. i don't know about black on black, but i'm desperate at this point. powdercoating is always an option i suppose.
i was originally looking at 15" rota slips in bronze for $440 shipped without tires, but i can't afford that right now.
what do you guys suggest? haha, personal loan time or what?

for 15's ummm 205/50/15 is pretty cushiony. yea that would be a nice size for 15...unless you want like a lower profile which umm maybe a 45 series tire.

jttegx has a spectacular aura aboutjttegx has a spectacular aura about
512 > 502. the 502's are the older version. 512s are more up to date and better off with.

but dam 45 series tire on a 15"? never seen that before =\ the lowest series i know of for a 15" rim is 50. skunk2ner, definately check out the tire calculator on this site under "quick links". i'd choose 205/55/15 so i wont alter my speedometer so much. but if your into serious racing/track/course, a 50 series is better.

I have a set of the OEM Firestones in my basement, if you want to go with a cheaper route. About 10K on them, no racing, no repairs, just commuter miles from the g/f. PM me if interested.

They were taken off and replaced with 205-60-15 Kumho ECSTA 716 HP4.
