brake pads

i know this belongs in the other forum, but i kinda need an answer soon because i'm thinking about buying brake pads after work...

my current brake pads squeel and occationally crunch (i checked them and they have some life still in them) and the dealer said that the previous owner put a metallic compound pad on the car. dammit!
so i'm thinking of just buying stock brake pads, how much do these run from the dealer approximately?
if i am eventually changing my rotors, should i change my pads to an aftermarket pad at that time as well?

Do you say anything intelligent??

Do you know what kind of pads are on there now? Some metallic pads suck and make lots of noise. I would suggest getting a set of brembo blanks or some slotted (not cross-drilled) rotors with some hawk HPs or axxis ultimates or porterfields. They will be a little dustier but well worth it.

If your not going to drive your civic hard, and don't need to stop in 30 feet.

A set of Raybestos (sp?)
"ain't gunna tax u aight"
And perform pretty good.
Might need to change em out 30-40k

Like robclark said, just get some brembo blank rotors and hawk pads. I paid about $120 for both, and installed them myself, well worth it.
