Keeping Stock Rotors, but pads?

The car is at 36k right now and needs some front brakes. On my Saturn I had Powerslot rotors with Stillen Metal Matrix pads, great combo.

Unfortunately I don't have the budget for a set of rotors at this time, but as for the pads. I don't want to spend too much cash and am wondering if getting another brand than OEM Honda pads would be better. Any suggestions on a product that would be good if not better than stock, not break the bank, and work well with stock rotors?

P.S.- a few brands I was looking into

AEM Nissin pads
Hawks

Stock rotors or brembo blanks are the better choice for rotors, save $$$ for better tires and better pads, because it's these two that are stopping you...Axxis metalmaster for a cheap improvement over OEM and axxis ultimate for the best street pads imo...don't forget that the tire is the most important thing for decreasing your stopping distance

Well tires and new rotors are waiting until next spring when I get more cash and a better slary job so I can get my 17" Racing Hart CR's.

I also hear of PBR or PRB or something like that, supposed to be pretty good for only like $46.

I suggest Axxis (which is PBR) though they are dusty. you can get them http://www.importrp.com/pbr.html for cheap.

Do not get EBC and some people don't like AEM. Porterfield and Hawk make good pads also.

I think for now I will stick with the Hawks for $52 unless someone knows of a cheaper price for a set. Come spring will be some slotted rotors with good pads.
