2004 civic brakes...

Hi !

I was wondering if it's just me or the stock brakes
on the 2004 civic (front discs/rear drums) are not
so powerfull ? at first, the pedal was mushy so I bring
it back to my Honda dealer. They bleed the system
and now the pedal feel firm but the brakes are still
not so powerfull compare to my mom's 2002 Vic.

What do you think ???

Philippe.

If your in Cali, go crazy and get Hondaluver to help you put on SI rear disc brakes. I believe he has plenty of experience. I think he wrote a DIY...haha.

all you need man is some good performance pads, and some brembo blanks rotors and you will get way better braking. I have hawk pads and brembo blanks and my car stops on the dime. And my pedal is very firm.

I got sick of my brakes on my 2001 EX and replaced the fronts with brembo blanks and PBR Metal Master pads, also bled the system and filled with Castrol fluid. Braking is really strong now, albeit with more noise and alot more dust, but those are the brakes I guess (pun intended).

Salut Phil,

There is a lot of dust compared
to the oem pads, I had silver wheels, now I have
2 rear silver rims and 2 grey front but I don't
care about it...

mordre. (2 freinages à 30 KM/H)

Philippe.
