Help with Brake Problem
This is my problem.
When im driving, any speed, a load squeeking comes from the front passanger side. I think it's the brakes, but it doesn't happen when i apply brake pressure. Its random and doesn't really have any pattern to it. When i press the brake, the squeeking usually goes away, but comes back pretty quickly.
Any ideas?
Its a '02 lx coupe with 75k and on its first pair of brakes.

Well if it doesnt happen when you apply the brakes then its not a brake related problem.
I really am not sure though what it would be. Can you explain it better?

Say im driving, out of no where, i hear a squeeking noise, which sounds like its coming from the brakes. Then it will just stop, then come back again in pulses
like....eeeee....eeeee....eeeee......eeeeee..
if you can sound that out, you will know what i mean.
the squeek sounds like a worn out break squeek.

Well if it was worn out brakes, it would happen when you applied the brakes, but you say it happens when you dont apply the brakes.
Not sure though, I wish I could hear it, cant really sound that out to well. LOL

lol...
when i brake, it does squeek..but not as load. Im gonna replace the pads anyways tomorow, got the set for 40$ so i might as well.
someone was telling me it could be seazed brake pistons, and its constantly clamping the rotors, which is probebly gonna be a pain the *** to fix.

if you have a seized brake piston, basically seized calipers, all that needs to be done is to have them rebuilt. I had both my calipers rebuilt for $50. Just take off your tires tomorrow and check everything. If your pads arent wearing evenly, then you will need your calipers rebuilt. And possibly your rotors resurfaced.

actually brakes that are worn at an angle will cause a squeek as driving down the road and when you apply the brakes it will pull the wear indicator away from the rotor and the noise will go away..... Get the brakes checked!
